Function: noun.  Etymology: French, from Middle French, from present participle of savoir to know, from Latin sapere to be wise.

1 : a person of learning; especially : one with detailed knowledge in some specialized field (as of science or literature)

2 : idiot savant 1

So, there you have it. 

SAVANTARDE. “Delayed genius.” 

A made-up word that seems to fit my being quite well. Also, a play on the dictionary word-cum art history term “Avant-Garde,” describing something that is particularly innovative or pioneering: the “vanguard” or “forward-guard.”
